CGS Studnetss

Boston University students come from nearly 140 countries and “a myriad of ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds” (from our page on diversity). Students at the College of General Studies are outgoing, active learners who embrace their campus’s urban environment, show a true passion for learning, and always seek opportunities to engage directly with faculty. Just as CGS faculty are well-known for keeping extensive office hours, CGS students use those hours to discuss ideas with their professors. Equally comfortable in large groups or one-on-one, CGS students are especially resourceful and take great advantage of what we like to think of as their “best of both worlds” situation: CGS students have the benefits of a small liberal arts classes in a general education college and access to the resources of a major research university.
